Talking BIG At G-Fest 2024!

It’s almost G-Fest time everyone! Before you go, here’s the rundown for all you Kaiju Conversation fans!

Boy do we have we got some exciting news for you today! G-Fest has released the panel schedule and if you haven’t seen it already, check it out! This year will be HUGE not only for Kaiju Conversation but the world of kaiju at the convention.

As you may already know, Titanic Creations (owner Mac McClintock has been on Kaiju Conversation LIVE!) will be vending at G-Fest again this year, and with that they will be showing off the prototype of their upcoming fully articulated Yongary action figure! [Order yours here] Elijah had the privilege to help out with the release by getting Titanic Creations in contact with the right people and suggested the inclusion of Sungnyemun Gate as one of the stretch goals. If you go, definitely check-out their table!


Also at G-Fest will be a heavy presence by Kaiju United, an organization founded by Jacob Lyngle (Kaiju Conversation LIVE! alumni) with Elijah acting as a contributor. In fact, Kaiju United is the first official sponsor of G-Fest! Watch for Jacob, Elijah, and the rest of the crew wearing Kaiju United tee-shirts as they cover the convention!


Starting the convention, right off-the-bat Kaiju Conversation alumni Nathan Marchand is joined by Kaiju Conversation LIVE! alumni Daniel DiManna and Neil Riebe among others to talk about Godzilla: 1984 [a.k.a. The Return of Godzilla] for “The Return of Godzilla 40th Anniversary” at 10:00 AM Friday in Ballroom A!

A review of the first Heisei Era film, looking at both the Japanese and American cut version. Will also discuss Kenpachiro Satsuma's role as the Heisei Godzilla.

Elijah’s first panel of the convention will be covering the 50th anniversary of Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla [a.k.a. Godzilla vs. The Cosmic Monster a.k.a. Godzilla vs. The Bionic Monster] with him will be Kaiju Conversation alumni Daniel DiManna (in his second panel of the convention). You won’t want to miss “50 Years of Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla” Friday at 2:00 PM in Ballroom C!

Immediately after Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, Elijah will be joining Kaiju Conversation LIVE! alumni Jacob Lyngle along with others to discuss the Academy Award winning film, Godzilla: Minus One! This is sure to be a knockout panel for anyone who wants to know more and share the love of the film! “Godzilla Minus One” will be held in Ballroom A on Friday at 3:00 PM!

Godzilla Minus One has done what no other Japanese G-Film has done prior with a record-breaking release, several award wins including an Oscar for Best VFX, and mass mainstream notoriety. Join our panelists as they discuss what some are calling the greatest Godzilla movie of all time.

Saturday at the convention, Kaiju Conversation alumni Daniel DiManna leads a crew of panelists to talk about the 60th anniversary of “Mothra vs. Godzilla” [a.k.a. Godzilla vs. The Thing] (1964) in Ballroom A at 10:00 AM!

1964’s Mothra vs. Godzilla remains one of the most acclaimed and beloved of all the Godzilla sequels. Join a panel of diehard fans and historians as they break down the history, filmmaking, thematic depth, and pure fun that makes this film so special.

Back again in G-Fest tradition, the writers of the kaiju genre return in “The Kaiju Writer's Panel” with iconic panelists and Kaiju Conversation alumni Nathan Marchand, Daniel DiManna, Neil Riebe, and friend of the podcast Donny Winter! A panel you will NOT want to miss by any means! Experience it at 11:00 AM in Ballroom C!

Artists, modelers, and filmmakers all have a place at G-Fest, and this is where the writers congregate! Nathan Marchand (co-author of Destroyer, creator of The Monster Island Film Vault podcast) leads a Q&A panel with fellow kaiju writers Daniel DiManna (Godzilla Novelization Project ), Neil Riebe (Gilgamo vs Super Allosaurus), and Donny Winter (Feats of Alchemy) that is sure to answer your (atomic) burning questions about the craft and business of writing.

Another Kaiju Conversation LIVE! alumni, Jeffrey Angles billed as “Special Guest” at G-Fest will be interviewed by Joyce Boss and Kevin Derendorf at 1:00 PM on Saturday in Ballroom A!

Following that, Jacob Lyngle gets to oversee the interview with modeler special guest Takuji Yamada at 2:00 PM in Ballroom conclusion the Kaiju Conversation rep at G-Fest on Saturday!

You can catch the world premiere of Elijah’s new short film, “Edo Kami no Gyakushu” on Sunday at 11:30AM during the Amature Video Contest! And see the results of the contest at the Awards Ceremony later that day at 2:00PM which are hosted by Jacob Lyngle!

On Sunday Daniel DiManna brings the heat again with his appearance on “When Dinosaur Comics Ruled the Earth” where he and a group of panelists cover the world of dinosaur comics in Ballroom C at 12:00 PM!

Dinosaurs and ancient monsters are more than just movie stars; they’ve also made a splash in the world of comics! Join the dino fun and dive into the world of paneled paleo storytelling from “Age of Reptiles” to “Xenozoic” and everything in between!

Ballroom C returns with an eruption of kaiju goodness as Elijah, Jacob, and Daniel cover the 20th anniversary of the last Godzilla film to use suitmation with “Godzilla: Final Wars - 20 Years of Monster Mayhem” at 2:00 PM!

20 years ago, Godzilla: Final Wars was released upon the world. It featured the last time traditional tokusatsu effects were used for the Godzilla franchise and the final appearances of Godzilla alumni actors, Akira Takarada, Kumi Mizuno, and Kenji Sahara.

To wrap up the show, at 3:00 PM Elijah, Daniel DiManna, Nathan Marchand, and special guest Jeffrey Angles talk about the 70th anniversary of “Godzilla” (1954) [a.k.a. Godzilla, King of the Monsters!]. in “Godzilla Turns 70!” in Ballroom A.

Our reason for gathering at G-FEST every year began 70 years ago with the release of the first Godzilla film, Gojia, in Japan. Come hear a celebration of that first film's accomplishments and legacy.
