2025 Podcast Updates

Kaiju In 2025 Podcast Square

Hey Conversationalists! (I guess that’s the name of fans of Kaiju Conversation…) Elijah here with updates as to what is going on with the podcast, why the release schedule got messed up, plans for the future, and what changes are happening in the new year.

Kaiju Conversation has been around now for SIX years, which is wild. However, we’re no stranger to breaks. We have been missing for almost a year before, but this hiatus will not be for that long as you have already probably seen with the releases of a few episodes and a short that covers the same material that can be read following this introduction. HOWEVER, it would be good to read further, I will be covering a handful of other updates that I failed to mention in the recording.

Season Five Wraps

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has listened to the show, whether you are a new listener or a faithful Conversationalist. Kaiju Conversation is now entering into its sixth year of production and it’s sixth season! That is going to be great! We are currently wrapping up the end of season five. Recently these episodes saw their release after being recorded back in November and early December:

These episodes are the final film and update podcasts for the fifth season, Following these will be the annual “Kaiju In (Insert Year Here)” podcast. We will be covering all the kaiju films and television that will (or possibly) come out in 2025. You can find our cheat sheet for titles for both movies and television on the website.

The Convies Have Begun!

After the release of “Kaiju In 2025,” we will finish the season off with the second annual Convies awards ceremony. Voting has BEGUN! Please cast your vote via this Google Form. You can expect another blog post covering the nominations.

What Is Next?

Kaiju Conversation now enters the back half of its first ten years of existence. In the first five years we’ve covered various films, but we have officially wrapped on the Shōwa Era of Godzilla films. This means going in 2025, next we will be covering “The Return of Godzilla” (1984) eventually, so stay tuned! We also covered most of the King Kong (official King Kong movies), but there is still one left, and it is celebrating an anniversary this year! Maybe we’ll cover that sometime this year? There will be themed months, celebratory episodes, and more specials and interviews! That being said, we’ve already revealed that “Gamera vs. Viras” (1968) and “The Green Slime” (1968) will be our first two films cover in season six of the show! A 1968 double feature…

Any Changes?

Of course the website is constantly being updated, our Episodes and Appearances pages are constantly being updated with more content that Rex and I have done!

Our YouTube has had a chance to catch up more than we originally planned, as everyone hopefully knows, right now the YouTube channel is moreso an archive than posting the new episodes on-time with the actual RSS feeds. As of writing this, Episode 110: Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972) is the most recent upload. That means its four episodes and one short behind. It probably will catch up a little more than where its currently at, but it will FINALLY be up-to-date this year and listeners of the YouTube video versions will finally be able to listen to the latest episodes on YouTube the same day that the episode goes life (or within 24 hours).

Kaiju Conversation LIVE! will be returing VERY soon. The guest for the next livestream has been decided. Episode 20 will be featuring the return of Kaiju Conversation alumni Michael Hamilton in his BIG return to live streaming and podcasting with a very retrospective conversation about content creation, fandom, and life. It will be a very intresting conversation that you won’t want to miss! Details are being figured out as we speak on a time to livestream. Perhaps a special will occur beforehand, we will see!

What Else?

As mentioned in our Podcast Updates, we are now on Threads and BluSky! As more people look for alternatives outside of X (the artists formerly known as Twitter (thanks Danny!) and FaceBook, we are trying to accommodate these desires and post updates and episodes on those platforms!

In our desire to streamline process so we can work more efficiently, we will be slightly changing the description of the episodes going forward. These changes will start with Episode 116: Gamera vs. Viras (1968).

We are also planning on attending G-Fest 2025! I (Elijah) have already purchased my G-Fest ticket and reserved the room. Rex is planning on attending, and I plan on hosting or presenting on a few panels. Plans could very well change, but as of right now that is the plan!

As of right now, we are planning on course correcting the late recording schedule in February and early-to-mid March. Please bare with us as we both do have rather busy schedules and lives. We are trying our best to get back on the path for the show. It just takes time and planning. Thank you all for reading this blog covering the various updates to the podcast in both operations and actions. Season six will be a ton of fun and the year will blow past us before we know it! Thank you all, and please remember… Life’s too short to not talk BIG!
